Hilton Garden Inn set for Stoke-on-Trent
A world-renowned hotel brand has revealed plans open a new venue in Stoke-on-Trent.
The 140-room Hilton Garden Inn hotel will be located in the Smithfield development in Hanley. Hilton has agreed a franchise deal with Smithfield developer and hotel owner Genr8.
The venue will create more than 50 jobs and is expected to further support Stoke’s bid to become UK Capital of Culture 2021.
A planning application will be submitted by Genr8 in the “near future” with work scheduled to begin later this year. The venue could welcome its first guests by 2019 and will be managed by Redefine BDL Hotels.
Richard Ingham, partner at Genr8, said: “The delivery of a Hilton Garden Inn at Smithfield is a huge step forward for both the city of Stoke-on-Trent and for the Smithfield development and will provide a significant boost to the local business and leisure economy.”
